Bible Verse of the Day

2 Peter 1:5-8

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Loves Me

Matthew 6:32-34 (Hebrew-Greek Study Bible) For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need of all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

When a baby wakes up, they don't wonder if you'll come to them. They wait eagerly and expectantly to see us walk in, sleepy-eyed and morning-haired as we may be. Babies and young children do not wake up worrying about what they'll wear today and if they will be warm enough. They expect that they'll be changed and dressed up nice and warm when it's cold. They don't worry about if or what they are going to eat. They expect we'll know they are hungry and will serve a yummy nutritious breakfast. When they fall down, they immediately look toward us, holding out little hands to receive our hugs and kisses so it will be "all better". They don't question whether or not we love them. They are sure of it! They have no worries. They expect we will take care of their every need.

Don't you wish you were a baby sometimes? No worries — getting pampered and hugged and kissed. Well, I have good news for you — you are a baby! You are the Lord's baby! We are His children and He loves us with an everlasting and perfect love. He cares for us just like we care for our little ones — in fact, much more.

“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all.” And he took them in his arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them. (Mark 10:14-16 H-GSB)

From this morning on, let's start coming to the Lord as we are — His children! We needn't worry about anything. Our Father waits for the time when we will totally put our trust in Him. He loves us and He knows every one of our needs before even a word is on our lips! We can trust Him as a child trust a parent, holding out our hands to Him when we fall in full confidence He will lift us up. Let's practice putting our worries aside and determine to expect our Heavenly father to meet our every need.

And don't forget to take some time out today and say — Abba (Daddy), thank you for loving me!
